My Sour Face was born out of a collaborative effort among brewers at O’Fallon. The goal was a light bodied, tart crushable Wheat beer with hints of mango and coriander. This beer is inoculated with a mango flavored culture in the brew kettle for 24 hours before moving to fermentation where it is finished with a clean American Ale yeast strain. This blended kettle sour has the perfect amount of tartness to be an everyday quaffer.

We started creating this beer by designing a traditional German style Kolsch beer. We used a blend of Pale and Pilsner malts, a healthy dose of German Noble hops and a clean fermenting strain of Kolsch yeast. We added just a splash of kiwi and hint of lime to accentuate the crisp refreshing character of this balanced summer quencher!

Our summer seasonal delivers a delicious balance of sweet and tart! A wheat beer refreshed with pink-lemony essence, it’s neither a Radler nor a Shandy, but somewhere deliciously in-between. We use Lemondrop hops for aroma, real lemons for a fresh-squeezed citrus taste, and lemon zest for more…. zest! Enjoy this uniquely created summer slammin’ ale!
